Kathi Funston is a professional actress, singer, and writer who splits her time between performing and writing. Her lifetime love of comedy and television led her to team up with Patrick Ortman to write and produce the hit comedy web series, Couch Cases. The show has been featured in USA Today and the Toronto Star, and with over one million views to date, its fan base is rapidly growing in the online TV watching community.
A versatile performer, Kathi has been involved in numerous studio recordings, musical theater productions, and independent films, as well as commercial voiceovers and jingles. She currently performs with the LA-based a cappella jazz group, In Transit, as their lead soprano and musical director.
An accomplished vocalist, Kathi has been singing for over 20 years and has received several awards during her career, including being named a top 5 singer in the state of Texas and twice earning first chair in All-Region Choir out of 500+ singers. She has a music degree from the world-renowned University of North Texas, where she sang with the Jazz Singers (named "Best College Jazz Choir" by Down Beat Magazine) as lead soprano and soloist for four years, releasing three albums and touring the U.S. with the group during her stay at school.
In addition to writing Couch Cases, Kathi is developing several feature and short film ideas with her partner and works as a copywriter for advertising copy used in commercial promos and web video spots. Kathi lives and works in Los Angeles.
